FeedBurner is the largely used widget on websites or webpages provided by Google. To update your site or blog you should use this widget. There are millions of websites or blogsites online using this widget. FeedBurner doesn't work sometimes with blogger if your FeedBurner feed size exceeds the limit 512k (This limitation only applies for FeedBurner feed file actual size and doesn't include any of the media files or images that you attach onto your post). To get a feed larger than 512K back down to size on Blogger, you need to add some parameters with your original site URL. The thing is that FeedBurner checks for the updates through out your site to keep your FeedBurner feeds current. This tells Blogger to shorten the FeedBurner feed to a specific number of posts.
How to Add the Parameter?
- Sign In to your FeedBurner account
- Click on the title of your FeedBurner feed on the My Feeds page.
- On the feed management page that will appear click on Feed Details below of your Feed's title
- In the Original Feed Address field make sure to do the following changes
Code:
http://yourblogaddress.blogspot.com/atom.xmlor
http://yourblogaddress.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/defaultChange to the following formathttp://yourblogaddress.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?max-results=3Now click save feed details ant the changes are immediately applied and FeedBurner re-burns the newly shortened or lengthened feed.
For Podcasters
You shouldn't take an episode to drop off of your feed. Set this value to 500 (What happens on episode 501? Pandemonium!)
For Bloggers
If you write longer posts and come up against FeedBurner's 512KB limit to total FeedBurner feed size? Then you may want a "Max-Result" into a little number so that you can control over the file size of your feed. You may need an experiment with the "Max-Result" settings to get an ideal size of your feeding files. Now can you say how to tell the file size of your feed? It's extremely easy, just enter its address into www.web-sniffer.net and look over the reports that will be shown to you. And there should be a value including kilobytes for the size of your FeedBurner feed that should be with an "uncompressed" format
